Spaceship Earth

Land: Future World  |  FastPass: No

This geodesic sphere has been the centerpiece of Epcot since it’s opening in 1982. Spaceship Earth takes you on a journey through the history of mankind, from the cavemen to the first computer. From your slow moving “time machine” vehicle, witness animatronic figures depicting scenes from Egypt, Rome, and even the invention of the printing press. The ride has recently been updated with touch screens which you use at the end to create your own future. Many interactive games await as you exit the ride.

  • Science fiction writer Ray Bradbury helped design this attraction.
  • The geodesic sphere is designed so that no water pours off the sides when it rains. Instead, water goes into the gaps of the triangle pieces and funneled eventually into the World Showcase Lagoon.
